Eggs-citing

The Easter Bunny isn’t the only one who brings colorful eggs! Many butterflies and moths lay beautiful, jewel-like eggs, either singly or in masses. Some butterflies like the black swallowtail, red admiral and monarch lay one egg at a time. Others deposit their eggs en masse–for example, the pearl crescent lays eggs in clusters of 200 or more! These tiny wonders can be hard to spot, but the observant pollinator gardener rejoices to find them. They’re an unmistakable sign that you’re on the right track, providing a home for all stages of the life cycle. That’s a cause for celebration indeed!
